Dwarfing the pruned Inga (which are there), Señor Victor Meza’s maize is growing healthily on a soil that had been unable to produce a crop for decades. The plants are flowering and forming mazurkas.

Below is Victor Meza’s maize sown outside his Inga plot for comparison. Surplus maize seed was sown as a “control” for his first Inga alley-cropped maize. Not one mazurka is to be seen and the plants are very stunted.
